One who desires to enter the Buddhist path must reckon with this basic fact. Given this opening emphasis on suffering\, where is there room in the Buddhist Teachings for discussions of hope? As we navigate the many challenges of our present world\, how do we balance a realistic assessment of our human predicament with joyful aspiration for enlightenment?
